Every year on the first Sunday in May, the event day "Cycle into the Museum" takes place in the Southern Palatinate. The route leads along the museums in the district of Germersheim, which invite visitors for a free visit on this day.
This circular route leads to various museums in the district of Germersheim. From the Terra Sigillata Museum, which takes visitors back to the Roman past, to the various local history museums, up to the Fortress and the German Road Museum, cyclists can experience a lot of culture and history on the route. Along the way, you cycle through the beautiful nature of the Southern Palatinate. Green meadows, tobacco and vegetable fields, the enchanting Bienwald, and the Rhine floodplains show the varied landscape in the southern Palatinate.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
- Considerate travel - Always behave with foresight, friendliness, and consideration toward everyone you meet along the way. This applies especially on agricultural paths where winegrowers, farmers, and foresters also work on weekends.
- Picnic & trash - Bring a trash bag for the road and take your waste back home. Use exclusively the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Nature conservation - Stay on the designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at dusk at the latest to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.

Safety information
Cycling on agricultural paths - Our cycle routes often run along paths we share with others. We therefore ask for considerate and friendly behavior at all times. Winegrowers, farmers, and foresters use the agricultural paths through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work – including on weekends. Due to work activities and/or weather conditions, paths may sometimes be more heavily soiled. Special caution is also required when crossing streets in and around Palatine villages. Road closures and detours must be strictly observed.
Danger situations - In case of an emergency, quick help is needed. Even though mobile phones can send GPS signals, classic emergency points are often the fastest. These are located at places accessible to emergency vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when you call for help. This way, emergency responders know where to find you.

Roadbook
The starting point is in Germersheim. Passing by the City and Fortress Museum, we cycle on the Queichtal Cycle Path to Bellheim. There you can visit the Museum Mittelmühle Old Sawmill (Mittelmühlstraße). The route continues on the Tobacco Circular Path south of Bellheim towards Offenbach. At Offenbach, we join the Kraut- und Rübenradweg, which we follow to Herxheim. In Herxheim, we turn right onto the Klingbach Cycle Path, which takes us to Rohrbach to the local history museum "Pfiesterhaus." From there, we continue on a cycle path past fields to Steinweiler. At Steinweiler, we join the cycle path "From Riesling to Zander," via Winden, where the local history museum is located, to Hergersweiler. From there, we turn onto Fassbodentours 2 and 1 until just past Steinfeld we meet the Kraut- und Rübenradweg again. Along this cycle path, we go to Schaidt, past the Viehstrich Museum, through Freckenfeld to the local history museum, then shortly after Minfeld onto the Südpfalz Cycle Path. This leads us through the Bienwald to the local history museum "Laurentiushof" in Büchelberg and onwards to Scheibenhardt to the German-French Pamina Cycle Path Lautertal. This takes us to the customs pavilion in Lauterbourg and then over Berg to Neuburg. In Neuburg, we can make a detour to the Rheinau Museum and the Shipping Museum. From Neuburg, we cycle on the Rhine Cycle Path (EuroVelo15) along Wörth am Rhein and through the Rhine floodplains. In Wörth, we leave the Rhine Cycle Path and cycle via Forlacher Street, Friedrich Street, Rupprecht Street, Wilhelm Street, and Hartmann Street onto the cycle path along the L540 to Jockgrim to the local brickyard museum. On the bicycle path along the K10, it goes to Hatzenbühl to the Tobacco Circular Path. Then we cycle on the "From Riesling to Zander" cycle path to Rheinzabern to the Terra Sigillata Museum, further to Neupotz to the local history museum, the House "Life on the River," and the Roman ship "Lusoria Rhenana." After a short section on the Rhine Cycle Path (EuroVelo15), it turns left to Leimersheim to the local history museum "Fischerhaus." Then it continues over Kuhardt, past the local history museum there, to Hördt on the Klingbach Cycle Path. From the Klingbach Cycle Path, it goes back onto the Rhine Cycle Path (EuroVelo15), past the brickyard museum in Sondernheim, back to Germersheim to the German Road Museum.
