A journey back in time to the industrial history of brick production.
The preservation of the property was ensured when the industrial plant was listed as a historical monument in 1984, but by the year 2000 the buildings had deteriorated so badly that the site could not be opened to the public. There were several roofs in danger of collapsing, the overgrowth had damaged the dry huts so badly that they had to be re-roofed, rubbish and rubbish was piled up everywhere. With a great deal of personal initiative and dedication, the renovation was started after the transfer to private ownership. For eight years, work was carried out on the entire facility piece by piece, accessories from other disused brickworks were obtained and prepared, always with the aim of being able to represent the original production processes of the brickworks as realistically as possible. Literature, information from former employees, original documents that were still hidden in attics, pictures and stories from the former owner were used to create a small exhibition that was set up in the brickworks' machine room. In May 2008, the brickworks officially opened its doors as a museum.
