With text and picture panels, full-size models and replicas, as well as outstanding exhibits, including an old Germanic boardwalk from around 800 B.C., visitors are given an overview of various historical periods and techniques of road construction. This is all complemented by tunnel and bridge replicas, the historical development of traffic signs, and the equipment and vehicles required for road construction (steam rollers and road pavers).
For groups, guided tours (also available in foreign languages) are offered daily by appointment. Special exhibitions punctuate the museum's day-to-day routine.
