The house “Leben am Strom” shows in an exciting and entertaining way how people lived on and with the Rhine in the past and today.
Rhine floodplain and flood protection information centre in Neupotz
The ‘Leben am Strom’ information centre shows in an exciting and extremely entertaining way how people on the Rhine lived on and with the Rhine in the past and today and how they still have to fight against floods today. It becomes clear how important the development of various means of combating flooding has been over the course of time and how this has affected people's lives and work. In five exhibition rooms, you can actively experience what life on the river means, how much the history of Neupotz is characterised by the Rhine and how it and the flood protection measures have changed.
The educational and exciting Actionbound puzzle rally through the exhibition is highly recommended for families and children.
In conjunction with the Lusoria Rhenana, the Haus Leben am Strom is a school-related environmental education centre of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate (SchUR).

Neupotz is located on the B9 in the southern Palatinate on the left side of the Rhine in the district of Germersheim. If you are coming from the north, you can take the A61 or A6/A61 to Speyer and from there drive along the four-lane expanded B9 until you reach Neupotz. If you are coming from Stuttgart or Basel, head over to Karlsruhe (A6) and then take the A65 towards Landau/Pfalz. 500m after the Rhine bridge, turn onto the B9 heading towards Germersheim.
