The Nature Park Schwalm-Nette, founded in 1965, is located in the far west of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Dutch border and extends over 435 sq km from the district of Kleve through the districts of Viersen, Heinsberg, and a part of the city of Mönchengladbach. Since 1976, it has been part of the German-Dutch Nature Park Maas-Schwalm-Nette. The typical Lower Rhine landscape of the nature park is characterized by water. Lakes, rivers, streams, and marshlands invite you to explore and engage in various activities. Typical forests, meadows, arable land, and heathlands offer impressive experiences and relaxation in nature.
