Premium walking trail Tackenbendener-Runde - Wasser.Wander.Welt.
The Tackenbendener-Runde offers an idyllic, pristine landscape. Additionally, there is a juniper heath that invites you to relax on one of the benches.
The Tackenbendener-Runde is the longest walking trail in the Wasser.Wander.Welt at 6.6 km. The route leads through the Elmpter Schwalmbruch nature reserve at the lower course of the Schwalm, near the German-Dutch border. The area is characterized by its moor forest and heath moorland, still and flowing water biotopes, as well as dwarf shrub and juniper heaths.
The walking trail starts at the Tackenbenden parking lot. From here, it goes straight ahead for quite a distance along the lush green Tackenbenden wet meadows in spring. Alongside the path and meadows, the characteristic pollard willows of the Lower Rhine cultural landscape line a small canal. Especially in the early morning hours, this offers a beautiful view. After some time, the path turns into a forested area and then follows the course of the Schwalm. Moist biotopes can be found repeatedly along the way. With a view of the juniper heath, it returns to the Tackenbenden hiking parking lot.
