Effelder Waldsee trail - Easy.Wander.World.

From the parking lot in Effeld, the 4.7 km long path initially runs along fields and past the lakeshore area over the border into the Netherlands. Here it leads along an old Rur meander loop and picturesque meadows towards the charming village of Etsberg. It continues through a mosaic of forest and open land areas to the Gitstapper Mill, then past the Gitstapper Farm again across the border. From there, the path leads through the Effelder Forest past asparagus and potato fields back to Effeld. The path encircles in its center the 3.8 km² large Effelder Waldsee, which is a quarry lake for sand and gravel extraction.
