UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate interaction in nature
Be considerate when travelling - always behave with foresight, kindly and considerately towards everyone you meet along the way. This is particularly important on farm tracks where winegrowers, farmers and foresters work at weekends.
Picnic & rubbish - Think of a rubbish bag for the road and take rubbish home with you. Only use the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
Nature conservation - Stay on the designated paths and avoid making unnecessary noise when you are out in nature. Leave the forest at dusk at the latest so as not to disturb the rhythm of nocturnal animals.Further information at www.pfalz.de/uffbasse .

Safety information
PLEASE NOTE:On the section between Erlenbach and Hatzenbühl, up to the ‘Am Rentnertreff’ junction, you should expect reduced passability in heavy rain or wet conditions, as the ground there may be very soft due to the damp and dries only slowly because the path is in the shade. The section of the route known as ‘Im Krautgarten’ in Kandel is a traffic-calmed road – please ride at walking pace there and be considerate of other people.
Cycling on farm tracks - Our cycle routes often run along paths that we share with others. We therefore ask you to be considerate and friendly at all times. Winegrowers, farmers and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests and vineyards for their everyday work - even at weekends. Due to work and/or weather conditions, the paths may be more heavily soiled at times. Special care is also required when traveling on the roads in and around the Palatinate villages. Road closures and detour must be observed at all times.
Dangerous situations - If an emergency situation arises, help is needed quickly. And even if cell phones can send GPS signals, the classic rescue points are often the quickest. These are located in places that are easily accessible for rescue vehicles. Remember the points with the green signs and a white cross. Return there in an emergency and quote the number on the sign when you make an emergency call. This way, the emergency services will know where to find you.

Roadbook
The route continues to Freckenfeld. Here we can pay a brief visit to the HELCK Winery on the main road. The small local history museum in Freckenfeld can be visited by telephone appointment (Tel. 06340/919277).
A short detour to WEINGUT NAGEL in Vollmersweiler is worthwhile. We cycle along the Kraut-und Rübenradweg, which runs parallel to the route, to the war memorial in Freckenfeld. From there, a cycle path leads directly to the smallest village in the municipality.
We cycle northwards through natural hollow paths and productive vegetable fields to Winden. Along Winden's main street, numerous self-marketers offer freshly harvested regional fruit and vegetable products in farm shops. We follow the cycle path through the village, past the town hall and the historic night watchman's house to the Raiffeisenstraße junction. During a wine tasting at WEINGUT KEHRT or a break at WEINSTUBE ZUR HOFSCHÄNKE, we enjoy the wonderful variety of flavours of Palatinate wines.
After a stroll through lush pastures and gently rolling vineyards, we arrive in the historic village of Steinweiler. Here, too, we are spoilt for choice: WEIN- UND SEKTGUT ROSENHOF is located just outside the village, so we follow the signs from Steinweiler railway station to ‘Rosenhof’, while WEINGUT FRANK BOHLENDER is located in Obergasse. The STEINWEILERER SEIFENMANUFAKTUR is located in the main street. Soaps are made here according to traditional old craftsmanship (a tour is possible for groups by telephone appointment). We cycle along Kirchstraße, past the town hall, to the junction of Haynaer Straße and Klingbachstraße (if you wish, you can take a short detour to the left along Klingbachstraße and then follow Niedergasse to the SEEHOF (large maize maze!).
A cosy farm track leads us straight to Erlenbach. Here you will find the FAMILIE SCHÖNUNG MARKET STALL, which offers a wide selection of freshly harvested produce, pasta, homemade jams and liqueurs. From Erlenbach, there are now two options for continuing your journey: either plan a detour to BAUERNHOF KERTH in Minderslachen - here you can buy tinned sausage and ham from animals reared on the farm (24-hour vending machine with selected products available) or continue along the main road directly to HOFMARKT ZAPF . Here, a café with a glass patisserie, farm shop and terrace invite you to take a long break before crossing a motorway bridge and past a petrol station via Dierbachweg to Raiffeisenstraße in Kandel. If we follow the railway station symbol from here, we will soon return to the starting point.
Note: The tour is around 30 kilometres long without any detours.
