This rest area on the Adelheidsweg in Steinweiler has tables and benches and is a good place to rest even when it rains.
The rest area is part of the historic village path and offers an ideal opportunity to take a break with a large covered hut and two beautiful seats made of solid wood. Here you can enjoy a wide view over fields and rows of vines as far as the Palatinate Forest.
Information boards point out the significance of the ‘Dreispitz’. There is a historic field cross at the site, the history of which can also be read on a sign.
If you are wondering why there is a pile of stones on the signposts, this is a reference to the Steinweiler coat of arms, which depicts a pile of stones.
The rest area is located on the Dreispitz site. This is where the historically significant Adelheidsweg and the St Ulrichspfad meet.
Cyclists will find the start of the ‘Hof zu Hof Tour’ and the ‘Vom Riesling zum Zander’ cycle path here. For walkers, we recommend the historic village path and the grape variety trail laid out by the Steinweiler winegrowers.
A row of vines at the rest area, which was planted as a sort of ‘border’ of the wine-growing region, has another special feature - a vine from Burgundy was planted here. It was a gift from young people from the Steinweiler partner municipality of Epinac to mark the 30th anniversary of the partnership.
