This route is a stage of Section ST1 of the Sultans Trail, an international long-distance hiking trail from Vienna to Istanbul. The hiking route follows historic roads through eight countries (Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey), linking towns and villages in a traditional cultural and historic landscape.
The trail passes Simmering, Kaiserebersdorf, and Schwechat before arriving at Rauchenwarth.

Guntramsdorf is located at the foot of extensive vineyards between Mödling and Gumpoldskirchen. The Eichkogel nature reserve is worth visiting as part of a hike. The view of Vienna compensates for the effort, made difficult by the lack of markings in the central protected area.
