EXPERIENCE THE VIENNA WOODS The WIR circular hiking trail, where WIR stands for Vienna Woods Initiative Region, was originally created by the municipality of Neulengbach. When several municipalities joined this initiative and started a joint sports & outdoor project, alongside many other smaller walking and hiking trails, the approximately 95-kilometer-long circular hiking trail was born. This trail passes through all municipalities and regions of the initiative and takes the hiker from the highest peak of the Vienna Woods to the northern outskirts of Tulln. In the west, the St. Pölten surroundings are touched with Böheimkirchen as well as Rekawinkel in the east, with a view towards the federal capital Vienna. A varied experience!
