Again the well-known Troppberg? Yes, but on a special route!
The return path via the Peilersteine is an enchanted gem and quite demanding in terms of orientation.

The Troppberg with its magnificent viewing tower is the highest Vienna Woods summit in the area and rightly popular and well visited. A round trip over the Höbersbachberg and the two secluded Peilersteine is suggested here.
The route runs mostly through the forest. In cold weather, you can choose sunny variants, which are marked on the map excerpt (see pictures).
After the Troppberg, orientation is challenging, the paths used are unmarked and partly narrow, so you have to look carefully and use the online map.
Have fun navigating and "peiling"!

Author’s recommendation
The steepest sections of the path (Troppberg and Peilersteine) can be avoided by shortcuts – but then you miss out on something!

On Höbersbachstraße, go 200m uphill in a long right curve, then turn right onto a narrow path behind the residential gardens to the forest edge. Here you meet the yellow marking that leads over the elongated Höbersbachberg (beautiful beech forest). Continue on the yellow marking until you reach a signpost where you encounter the red marking coming from Riederberg and Saubühel. Follow the red marking, steeply at the end, up to the Troppberg with the viewing tower.
From Troppberg, descend northeast via the blue marking to Hauersteig forest road and a short section uphill to the left to a large crossroads (point 442).
To the right lie the Peilersteine ahead of us. From here it gets exciting – there are no more markings. Turn left on a "good trail" around the first steep and forbidding hill and at the first opportunity turn right uphill. Here the trail is no longer visible; you must navigate precisely with the map on your phone! Bypass the first subpeak on the right, winding and overgrown, until you can recognize faint trail marks leading steeply to the Peilerstein West Summit (nice summit cairn). Continue eastwards on small trails and then turn left downhill, where you meet the "good trail" again. Continue right on this over the long and flat Peilerstein East Summit to the forest road. Follow it 300m to the left (long left curve). Shortly after a forest road fork, you must find a small trail leading downhill to the right, which is initially overgrown but then clearly visible. Descend northeast into the Höbersbach valley, then turn right (east) and finally cross a footbridge to the left back to Höbersbachstraße and the car.
