The longest distance of the Winter Tihany endurance routes is perfectly suitable for getting to know the geological and cultural values of the Tihany Peninsula, as well as enjoying the unique panorama that can be admired from countless points. We walk through the geyser formation, then also the "mountainous area" stretching along the western edge of the peninsula, from where there is a stunning view of the water surface of Lake Balaton. Although the hills are low, appearances are deceptive: the terrain works the thighs harder than expected.
On Apáti Hill, we pass by the Watchtower lookout, from where we can see the whole area, then we make a detour to the Apáti Church. From here we return to the center of the peninsula along the shore of the Outer Lake and admire the landscape from a slightly different perspective on the Szélmarta Rocks. We arrive at Barátszállás via the earthworks of Övár Hill, from where we aim for the harbor. From here we climb up to the village, and first from the top of the Calvary, then closer, we can also see the Benedictine Abbey before we reach the finish.

Author’s recommendation
- There is no natural water intake point on the route, so be aware and prepare to bring water for the hike, even in winter.
- At the Aranyház geyser formation, with a 300-meter round trip detour on the S+, we can reach the Hármashegy Well, from where we get an even fuller panorama and do not have to queue on top of the rock.
