Information about Imsbach at Donnersberg: The website of the "Bergbauerlebniswelt Imsbach" is very informative and explains some backgrounds from the history of regional mining.

The municipality of Steinbach at Donnersberg

Many and interesting information about Steinbach, the surroundings, the history, etc. can be found in the extensive work "Historical Facts about Land and People" by Michael März from Steinbach. The author has granted permission to refer to his book. Especially the eventful history of the entire area, e.g. during the Thirty Years' War with changing rulers of the Spaniards and Swedes as well as battles between Steinbach and Imsbach or during the French period around 1800, is vividly presented.

From the Langental car park in Imsbach at the "Weiße Grube"

    The Weiße Grube

as the starting point of the circular hike, follow the paved access road, which after a few meters turns into an unpaved forest path, until you meet a path marked "White Cross"; turn right onto it. This path then leads, among other things, across the grounds of the "Golf Club at Donnersberg" with a refreshment opportunity at the Röderhof country inn.

After passing the club grounds, leave the "White Cross" path to the left towards Röderhof; cross the K46 and after a short distance turn left onto a field path that follows into a hollow. Immediately after passing a small pond on the left with bushes, turn half-right onto a field path up the slope and follow it to the edge of the village at the Celtic village.

Shortly before, you can turn left for a refreshment at the hut of the Steinbach local group in the Palatinate Forest Association, which is open at certain times.

Past the Celtic Village and the Youth Hostel Steinbach

The Youth Hostel in Steinbach at Donnersberg

You continue downhill towards the village center to the Hahnweiler Street, turn left into it and continue to the pond of the anglers' association. After the pond, turn right until after a few meters the "Palatinate Ridgeway" with the marking "blue-white landscape with cloud" is reached. Turn left onto it and follow it from here to the starting point at the Weiße Grube.

Through the Borntal valley, past the Hahnweilerhof, the hermit’s hermitage is passed on the left.
