The significance of the path:
The Triskel, also called Triskel or Triskele (from the Greek for "three-legged"), is a Celtic symbol in the form of three running legs or open spirals or circles arranged in an equilateral triangle. In general, this symbol, with historical examples found, for instance, at the Irish Newgrange, is assigned the pagan triad symbolism. Little is known about the original meanings of the triskel spirals. It is often assumed that they represent the path of life. In today's interpretation, the magic number "three", which is especially significant in Celtic representation, plays a major role. Various contexts and cycles can be assumed:
- Past, present, and future
- Birth, life, and death
- Body, spirit, and soul
- The triad of gods and goddesses (e.g., maiden, wife, crone)
- Earth, water, and air as elements
Information about Steinbach, surroundings, and history:
Many interesting details about Steinbach, the surroundings, and history can be found in the extensive work "Historical Facts about Land and People" by Michael März from Steinbach. The author has given permission to reference his book. Especially the turbulent history of the entire area, for example during the Thirty Years' War with changing rulers such as the Spanish and Swedes and battles between Steinbach and Imsbach or during the French period around 1800, is vividly presented.
