Pfälzerwald-Verein e.V.
A circular hiking route at the foot of the Donnersberg massif with insights into the mining history in the Imsbach area and great views.
The route partly goes through the nature reserve "Beutelfels" (see also signage). The purpose of protection is the preservation of the natural plant communities, especially the maple-linden forest, the rock maple-oak forest, the rock pear shrub, the sheep's fescue grasslands, rock crevice communities, and the rare animals and plants linked to the area's biotopes as well as the protection of the natural forest area for scientific and local history reasons.
Among other things, it is forbidden
- to ride horses, camp, lodge, or set up caravans;
- to make noise, operate flying devices, hold races or similar organized mass events;
- to light or keep fires (open or in grills, smokers, or similar devices);
- to leave the paths and trails;
- to let animals run free.

Roadbook
From the Langental parking lot as the starting point of the circular hike, follow the paved access road which after a few meters turns into an unpaved forest path until it meets a path marked "White Cross." Beforehand, a short detour to the "Weiße Grube" with corresponding information can be made at the parking lot.
Weiße Grube in Langental Imsbach
Follow the "White Cross" path to the left until just past the Klausberg hut, then turn left onto the Palatinate Ridgeway. Passing by a forest fence, a small fork in the path is reached; the ridgeway is left to the right onto the "Keiperweg." After a few meters, an information stone about the path is found on the right. This path is followed with beautiful views until a forest trail (designated "E" for Iron Trail) crosses from the right. Turn right onto this and follow the "E" trail uphill, passing the remains of Hohenfels castle ruins to the Kronbuch hut.
Beforehand, you get very beautiful views over the entire Kaiserstraße valley from the viewpoints "Löwenbergs-Ruhe" and "Iron Man" on the Beutelfels.

A short break can be taken at the Kronbuch hut (open only at certain times, see link),
the Kronbuch hut between Falkenstein and Imsbach
before continuing on the path marked "Blue Dot" towards Imsbach to the Kupferberg hut of the Imsbach local group of the Palatinate Forest Association. Its location at the top of the Kupferberg offers another very nice view over the Kaiserstraße area.

Follow the "Blue Dot" marking down the mountain to the street "Am Kupferberg," then turn left onto the path marked with a "white triangle" back to the starting point.
