Hiking and mountaineering in the Pitztal Valley: on your marks, get set, go!
One popular hike, for example, is to the Riffelsee, a beautiful mountain lake that is easily accessible thanks to the Riffelseebahn cable car. From the Sunna Alm, an easy trail leads around the lake, which is also suitable for families with small children. The hike can be extended even further with a detour to the Verborgenes See. A stop at the alpine hut makes for a pleasant end to the hike before heading back down into the valley.
Hikes in the Kaunergrat Nature Park are a special treat. The nature park, which is home to the largest ibex colony in the Eastern Alps, offers unspoiled nature and secluded, impressive tours. The hike over 1,000 meters of altitude to the Mittelbergsee lake is beautiful. A picnic on the shore of the turquoise lake is an experience you won't soon forget.

High-altitude hikes on and around the Wildspitze
There are countless possibilities for tours across glaciers and alpine ridges: the classic tour is the high-altitude tour to the Wildspitze, which at 3,774 meters is the second-highest mountain in Austria and the highest mountain in North Tyrol. This impressive tour can be completed in a single day with the help of the glacier cable car. However, we recommend splitting the tour over two days to allow enough time to soak in the unique mountain landscape. Other highlights of high-altitude tours include the Brochkogel and the Linke Fernerkogel.
