Welcome to the Taschachhaus!
The Taschachhaus is located in the Ötztal Alps at 2,434 m at the northern foot of the Urkundkopf in the rear Pitztal, 30 minutes' walk from the Taschachferner and surrounded by numerous three-thousand-meter peaks.
The generally accessible, managed hut (category I) of the Munich section was built in 1873/74, rebuilt in 1898/99 and most recently thoroughly modernized and partially extended in 2005-2008.
As a DAV training base, the Taschachhaus offers ideal conditions for alpine mountaineering, ice tours, basic and advanced training, expedition preparation, but also very beautiful one-day and multi-day hiking opportunities in an impressive landscape. Several seminar and group rooms, an indoor climbing facility, comfortable room units, hot showers and a perfect kitchen - what more could a mountaineer's heart want?
With just a 2.5 - 3 hour ascent via the valley trail, the hut is also very popular with vacation guests in the Pitztal as a day tour. The view from the hut terrace of the surrounding peaks and glaciers is also uniquely beautiful and the Fuldaer Höhenweg offers a very scenic and alpine alternative for the ascent or descent from the hut back to Mandarfen.
The hut has become particularly famous for its excellent cuisine - no guest leaves the hut without explicitly praising the food and leaving the hut much heavier than they intended ;-)))
The Taschachhaus is also the base for the 4-day"Pitztaltour" and the "Pitztaler Runde", both tour tips for multi-day hikes from hut to hut.
