Brno elevation route from zero point with entries into two books.
Brněnská Výškovnice
The starting point of the Brno elevation route is the Marian Column at Freedom Square. This is where the trip begins. It ends at the tram stop at Björnson Park on Veveří Street. And in the city center itself, you will find the first two peak groups and books immediately. Central Brno Hills with the peaks Petrov and Špilberk and Kraví hora with peaks Wilsonův les (although it was agreed in a discussion that this peak has no name) and Kraví hora. Geomorphologically these peaks belong to the Lipová Highlands.
This is rather a city walk that leads you across these peaks and simultaneously connects many interesting natural and cultural places in the city with a long history. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit churches, museums, technical monuments, admire sculptural works and views of the city and its surroundings. You will walk through streets and parks and will be able to refresh yourself at many pubs, cafes, and restaurants.

Safety information
This is a walk through the city. Be careful when crossing roads - cyclists, cars, trams, and trolleybuses.
And watch out for pickpockets on public transport - at least that's what people warn us about everywhere.
Otherwise, Brno is fine :-)

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
This is a city walk. Brno has a very well-developed public transport system. You can always travel a bit by bus, tram, or trolleybus. The route itself starts and ends near tram stops.
In Brno, you can pay for public transport with a credit card - service PÍPNI A JEĎ, so you don't have to look for tickets in tobacconists. When entering and exiting, tap your credit card on the terminal in the transport vehicle, and the transport company will charge you the fare according to the length of the route.
You can find timetables in the IDOS app or on the IDOS website.
Likewise, IDOS will help you get to Brno by train or bus. Brno also has an airport.
Directions
By train to Brno main station - to the starting point it is two tram stops or a walk along the main pedestrian street. The street is called Masarykova.
By bus to Zvonařka station - it was renovated this year (2021) so it should be fine. From here the tram will run (under construction in 2021) and city buses depart from here. However, most people walk to the main station via Vaňkovka - the first real shopping arcade in Brno.
Parking
If you arrive in Brno by car, be aware that parking is paid everywhere around the city center. Resident zones are implemented.
The best will be to choose some parking garage
- Parking garage at Janáček Theatre
- Parking garages and paid parking lots operated by the company Brněnské komunikace
