    Ich habe am 3.10.26 zum 1.x beim Wachau Trail mitgemacht und mich für den 56er entschieden. Zuvor hatte ich 3x den 30er bei einem anderen Veranstalter gemacht. Diesmal wollte ich wissen, ob auch 50 und mehr km möglich sind. Die Strecke ist toll, herrliche Passagen durch Wälder, mir Aussicht auf die Donau, durch Weinberge, über heftige Steige und ein bisserl zum Entspannen auf Straßen. Die Markierungen waren gut zu sehen, die Labestationen hatten alles, was der Wanderer/Läufer braucht. Das Wetter war unschlagbar schön Sonne pur, milde Luft. Absolut empfehlenswert!

    Eine schöne Tour, bei der ich nur drei andere Leute getroffen habe. Meine Uhr hat 12,6 km gemessen. Ich habe 7 Stunden gebraucht und dabei nur 15 Minuten Pause gemacht. Der Aufstieg von der Bindalm aufs Kammerlinghorn dauert knapp vier Stunden, der Abstieg 3 Stunden.

    Der Geisterberg ist für Jung und Alt ein Erlebnis. Das letzte Stück Schotterstraße hinauf zum Sonntagskogel ist auf einer Länge von geschätzt 200 Metern etwas steiler (ca. 14 Grad). Ab der Bergstation Sonntagskogelbahn 3 gelangt man über einen schmalen und teilweise mit Felsgestein durchsetzten Pfad zum Gipfel. Hier sind Wanderstöcke sehr nützlich. Das Ziel Sonntagskogel ist jedenfalls lohnenswert. Bei gutem Wetter hat man eine herrliche Fernsicht.

    Achtung: Nur für Geübte! Der Thomas-Eder-Steig und der Dopplersteig ist nur von wirklich erfahrenen, absolut trittsicheren, schwindelfreien und konditionsstarken Bergsteigern zu bewältigen. Die Gehzeit ist auch zu überprüfen, da 3,5 Std. für die Rundtour sehr knapp bemessen ist. Aber eine fantastische Tour.

    Ruhige Etappe durch den Wald mit dem ersten nennenswerten Anstieg nach Maria Waldrast. Dort bietet sich eine Rast an. Trinkwasser gibt es am Brunnen. Neben Kirche und Kapelle gibt es dort auch ein Kneippbecken und eine Einkehrmöglichkeit. Der anschließende Trinser Steig ist ein schöner, stiller Waldpfad mit Ausblicken ins Wipptal.

    2017 und 2018 konnte ich noch durch die Sillschlucht gehen. Aktuell ist diese leider gesperrt. Die Umleitung führt über den QuoVadis-Pilgerweg und macht die Etappe etwa 2 km länger. Bei der Querung der Geleise der Stubaitalbahn an der Haltestelle Sonnenburgerhof haben wir deshalb die Bahn bis Kreith genommen. Der weitere Abschnitt durch die Telfer Wiesen und nach Mieders ist sehr schön. In Mieders lohnt sich unbedingt noch ein Besuch der Kapelle auf dem Kalvarienberg – ein schöner Abschluss der Etappe.

    Ein fantastische Tour mit vielen überwältigenden Anblicken, aber nicht für Ungeübte (wegen des kurzen Klettersteigs und der ausgesetzten Stellen) und nicht bei Nässe. Der Weg zur Hütte und ins Tal ist technisch nicht mehr schwer.
