Geilo Beach is a popular swimming beach close to the Geilo center, with a volleyball net, barbecue area with a shelter and parking space, also a toilet, and a dressing room.
Between the trees, there is space for a hammock, although when it's extremely hot, it might get too crowded for that. Alongside the beach and the car park, the municipality has constructed a cycling track and a volleyball court.
If you need a break from swimming, you have various options: you can venture into Vestlia Resort (1km), take a leisurely stroll back toward Geilo center (2km), or opt for a walk or cycle along the entire (10km) or half (5km) of the Ustedalsfjordenrundt tour road. This trail is a well-liked hiking route in the vicinity, frequented by both locals and tourists.
From 15 April to 15 September, bonfires are prohibited in forests and fields.
Overnight stays on the beach and at the car park are not permitted. There are two campsites located further east of Geilo center (3km) or a nice place for a motorhome outside Geilo centre. The locals truly appreciate it. Thank you!
