Passo del Sole

We recommend starting the tour in Airolo. Roll down the road to the Ritom Funicular in Piotta. The funicular is steep and spectacular and shortens the uphill by 800 m. On top follow the road uphill and around Lake Ritom. The scenery on the Piora plain is beautiful. The Capanna Cadagno allows for a coffee- or food break - the last opportunity for a while. Follow the gravel road uphill until the alp where the climb becomes steeper and rougher. Eventually you´ll arrive at Passo del Sole. The downhill from here to Acquacalda is long and fun, with only a few short challenges.

From Acquacalda down to Olivone you´ll ride a mix of varied trails and double tracks. Rocky sections occur more frequently now until the challenging finale shortly before Olivone.
