Dome Pools is a Mountain Club of South Africa (Maliesberg Section Property) and non-members must apply for a permit beforehand. Visit the MCSA website for the full hike details.
The hike into the kloof is an easy 4 - 5 km each way, taking 1 - 2 hours. After an initial uphill, you descend into the foot of the kloof and follow the gentle river before ascending alongside the main kloof. Th gradient is steady up to the entrance of the kloof. Once in the kloof, you walk in the rocky river bed and there are plenty of pools to swim in.
There is no clear route within the kloof or marker demarciting the kloof's exit, so we recommend following this route so that you don't get lost.
There is a fee for parking (per vehicle) and only cash is accepted.
