This challenging loop starts near Rouffach in Alsace, leading you through a varied mix of forested and wild trails, dirt roads, and paths. The route quickly immerses runners in natural surroundings, with steep ascents and descents as you gain up to 816 m altitude.
As you push through demanding sections, you'll traverse both rugged terrain and smoother gravel stretches, keeping your focus sharp. About midway, the trail passes the Ancien couvent du Schwartzenthann, a historic abbey ruin that offers a unique rest point and a scenic highlight.
The course continues through dense woods and open paths before looping back to the starting point. This tour is suited for experienced runners with excellent fitness, ready to tackle elevation changes and technical segments.
