Mobility in the Julian Alps

Enjoy the abundance of fresh air and hit the trail in a different way: by bike, train, bus or on foot. Be friendly to nature and preserve it just the way it is. No matter whether you arrive by train or bus. The Julian Alps are well connected. Read more about mobility options in the Julian Alps and about the benefits cards provided by some destinations for your convenience.

Owing to its uniqueness and importance, the Triglav National Park requires and deserves respectful visitors. Less noise, fewer cars, and lower carbon footprint are a guarantee for more clean air and peace.

Alternative Transportation and Bike Rentals

Let’s reduce traffic pressure in the Julian Alps and help create enjoyable experiences for everyone. Let’s travel thoughtfully and sustainably.

Combining train and bicycle travel is an excellent way to experience the Julian Alps and other destinations along the scenic Bohinj Railway. However, bicycle capacity on trains is limited and, due to infrastructure and technical constraints, unfortunately cannot be increased in the short term. We have therefore prepared some useful information to help you plan your bike-and-train journeys.

Below you will find a list of passenger and bicycle transport providers, as well as bicycle rental services, within the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve and the surrounding area. Prior arrangement with the provider is required.
