Korsholm Castle Mound is a little hill today, but in medieval times, it was an island in a flat archipelago landscape. Sweden’s King Albert of Mecklenburg had a fortress built here in the 1360s, and over the ensuing centuries, this place was the seat of bailiffs and regional bailiffs and county governors who reigned over the whole region around the Gulf of Bothnia. Today, visitors can experience this place with the help of signposting, as well as recently developed AR presentations that function using a mobile phone.
