Here one can find the ruins of the building that was the British Army Headquarters during WWII.
The peculiarity of the area, the inaccessible places, the dense forests have always been natural shielding and shelters but also bases of attacks.
In the more recent period, that is, the Italian-German occupation and the National Resistance, Pertouli had a decisive participation. The general headquarters of EAM - ELAS (the WWII National Liberation Front and its military arm ELAS), the joint general headquarters of the resistance organizations ELAS - EDES - EKA and the headquarters of the British Military Mission in Greece were located here.
