Mont de la Saxe is the top of the ridge above rifugio Bertone. Hike 5 minutes past the hut, stop and enjoy the views. If you're in the mood for a big day, you'll want to go higher still on the ridge. Take the trail to the right, heading steeply up, and you can get to Bonatti hut his way. It is stunning, but also a very long day that tops out at 2553 meters.
Note that there are no huts, inns or stops enroute, so make sure the weather is clear and take enough snacks and water for a full day. Add 2,000 ft of climbing and 2½ hours to the estimated time if you are headed to Bonatti. Here's the Mont de la Saxe route from Bertone to Bonatti. Otherwise, the main route is also awesome.
