- Spectacular city view
- Obelisk as a symbol of the end of the Napoleonic wars
- Originally called Františkov
If you take a path behind the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul you will find yourself in the centre of a spectacular city view. This garden was named after the French historian Ernest Devis, who became famous for spreading Czech history abroad and who established a Czech library in Paris. It’s an ideal place to enjoy the every colour of Brno and merge with a magnificent Moravian nature. Looking around, you will see a famous Spilberk Castle, Brno Old Town , Husova street with a Red Church. Moreover there is a collonade with a fontain just in the centre of the Gardens, that was built to commemorate the Napoleonic War. A perfect place to sit there on the bench hanging in your hands a glass of a delicious Moravian wine and feeling the unique city atmosphere.
By the way, this place is an ideal match for dance-lovers, because sometimes bachata lessons are hold there.
