It’s all fun and games!

One of the first places that should be on your agenda is the Slovenian Alpine Museum - an impressive gamified museum in Mojstrana. The museum has developed a fun, innovative way of exploring the museum through interactive gameplay - ideal for tech-loving teens!

The museum’s permanent exhibition takes visitors on a tour of Slovenian mountaineering and for a real treat, take a virtual tour across the mountain tops, enjoying 3-D panoramic views as you hop from one mountain peak to another, or take a daring descent from the summit of Slovenia’s highest mountain on a virtual zipline. 

And, for some brilliant, brain-teasing fun, try Escape to the Bivouac - visitors can also set off on a thrilling gameplay mountain adventure. Will you crack the hidden codes as you try to find the right path and the bivouac? It’s suitable for 2-4 people so grab your travelling companions and make a day of it.

If you find yourself with a spare hour to fill, look no further than The Game Escape Room in Bled. Will your team solve the mystery and find the missing elf dust? The game is suitable for groups of friends and families - kids can play too as long as they are accompanied by an adult. You will get some clues along the way but you still need to get your thinking caps on! It’s a fantastic attraction that will bring a little magic to your day. It’s popular so be sure to book in advance. 

Or, if that has got you in the mood and you fancy some more teamwork and intrigue, take the family to the Escape Museum in Rateče. Your team will be challenged with game content, puzzles and clues based on the town’s history in an attempt to unlock the secrets of Kajzenk House.  The game can be played with 2-5 players. Are you up for the challenge?

Ever been in a prison cell? Probably not! For a mind-boggling adventure behind bars head to Escape Room Bovec which is built as a local jail. The object of the game is to escape but you must solve tricks and puzzles along the way. Will you be able to break free in just an hour?

Technology also plays a big part in some of the fun things to see and do at Planica Nordic Centre. 

If anyone wants to live out their fantasy of being a ski jumper, Planica Nordic Centre has two jump simulators. You can even try your hand at being a ski jumping judge at the interactive station.

If you really can’t agree on what to do with your day, try out the handy smart guide ‘where to go’. You can play the interactive quiz and the online guide will make suggestions for you based on your preferences. It will help you plan your trip in just a few clicks!

Visitors to the area can also take part in the ‘Heroes of Planica’ interactive game. It’s so easy to set up - simply buy a ticket from the centre’s front desk to receive a unique code that is entered to the app then start the game. 

The wonders of technology can also come into play for those of you who do want to get out and about in the fresh air. Maybe you feel like tackling some of the great hiking routes such as the Juliana Trail. With the Juliana Trail App, you can have all the information you need at your fingertips. With the handy app you can find out about other trails in your location or look for interesting landmarks and cultural attractions where you are as well as a lot of other useful information about your surroundings.

These are just some ideas to get you started. There’s loads of great stuff you can do here in the Julian Alps but one thing we can’t control is the weather -  we will try to have a word with it anyway -  but at least you know there’s fun things to do if it starts to rain.
