The endurance hike name indicates the event's longest distance, which runs along the yellow band marking between Esztergom and Budaörs, traversing the Pilis and Buda Hills. The tour's peculiarity is that it is held every year on the same day (April 30 – May 1) with a late evening start.

Belonging to the long-established endurance hikes, the Yellow 70 may be a challenging test or a warm-up hike for those who have completed the three-digit distances. This hike is also considered the main dress rehearsal of the famous Kinizsi 100, regularly held in May.

The atmosphere of the 70 km distance starting with the night hike is made special by the lights of Esztergom, the starry sky over Hegymeg, and the headlamps piercing the forest darkness. After dawn, the panoramas take center stage: Fehér hill, Zsíros hill, Calvary hill, Újlaki hill, Big Hárs hill, and Törökugrató all offer excellent perspectives of the Pilis and Buda Hills landscapes. The tour passes by several iconic locations including Pilisszentlélek, Pilis saddle, Klastrompuszta, Pilisvörösvár, Mouflon watering place, Kötők bench, Alsó-Jegenye valley, Virágos saddle, Hűvösvölgy, Szép juhásznè (Budaszentlőrinc), Csacsi meadow, Sorrento rocks, and Csíki hills.

While walking, you encounter natural values as well as cultural sights, but the 18-hour time limit does not allow much opportunity for sightseeing. With good strength and time management, the tour can be comfortably completed, but this “comfort” is primarily determined by your own physical endurance. Those who have previously walked only 20-30 km distances are rather advised to start on one of the shorter sections of the Yellow endurance hikes: Yellow 50, 40, 30É, 20A, 20B, 15, 10.

The Yellow 70 is part of the Pentathlon race series, TTT Cup, University hike series, and the Cartographia Cup.

Start location: at the station building of Esztergom railway station, at the end of the platforms. The night start is aligned with the timetable of incoming trains.
