Sárga 30É (night) endurance hike
One section of the long-standing Sárga 70 endurance hikes is the 30 km route offering a nighttime hiking experience. Walking from Esztergom to Pilisvörösvár is not just about terrain walking with a headlamp; those who do not rush can also enjoy the sunrise.
The atmosphere of the night hike is made special by the lights of Esztergom, the starry sky over Hegymeg, and the sweeping beam of headlamps breaking through the forest darkness. After dawn, one can even enjoy the panorama of White or Red Mountain before reaching the Pilisvörösvár destination. The hike passes through locations such as Pilisszentlélek, Pilis saddle, Klastrompuszta, and Red Mountain.
During the walk, you encounter natural values as well as cultural sights, but the time limit leaves little opportunity for sightseeing (finish by 9:00). With good fitness and time management, the hike is comfortably doable; however, this “comfort” mostly depends on one’s physical endurance. Those who previously hiked distances of only 10-20 km are advised to participate in one of the Sárga endurance hikes' shorter sections: Sárga 20A, 20B, 15, 10.
The route is part of the Ötpróba competition series, the TTT Cup, the University hiking series, and the Cartographia Cup.
