Pilis Bike Piliscsév small route (Kesztölc, Erika café P+B)
Kesztölc and Piliscsév are neighboring settlements, both located at the foot of Pilis with its wonderful view. Our short route can be undertaken by practically anyone without any serious preparation or fitness, even children can confidently join.
Due to its length, do not expect too many sights, but the limestone rocks of Pilis provide a spectacular setting during the ride.
Author’s recommendation
- The name Erika is popular in Kesztölc. The starting point should not be confused with the Erika confectionery in the settlement; we are looking for the Erika café.

Description:
Kesztölc - Piliscsév (PB12)
- Terrain: asphalt, gravel road
Starting from the parking lot, we pedal a few turns westward, then carefully turn left onto Szent István Street. We ride all the way to the edge of the settlement, then immediately turn left again after the last house. We find ourselves on a straight, gravel bulldozer road, bordered on the side by plowed fields and pastures, while mountains surround us in all directions in the background.
For a long time, we pedal straight along the field, with the only task being to avoid the smaller and larger potholes. After covering a few kilometers, the Statue of Saint Vendel on the left indicates that the border of Piliscsév is approaching. Interestingly, the area was inhabited during Roman times, and the base of the statue is formed by a Roman milestone found during plowing.
As often happens in the area, we enter the settlement along a horse stable, and pedal along its main street. At the other end, be careful as a no-entry sign for bicycles blocks our way. Here we turn onto the bicycle path running parallel to the road, and after a few hundred meters, we reach our turnaround point, the Piliscsév railway station.
Piliscsév - Kesztölc (PB12)
- Terrain: asphalt, gravel road
Turning back, we approach the settlement again on the bicycle path, then when it ends, we carefully return to the road. Following the curve of the main street that forms the village's spine, we pedal along it, and at the other end, we return to the gravel bulldozer road.
We pedal towards Kesztölc along the previously known straight road. The only difference is that this time the Pilis looks down on us from our right side. Upon reaching the boundary of our starting settlement, we turn right onto the asphalt road, and after a few minutes of cycling, the route ends upon reaching the center.
Public transport
The settlement of Kesztölc is not served by a railway line, so it cannot be reached by public transport that allows bicycle carriage. If you absolutely need to take the train, then Piliscsév railway station might be a solution.Get Timetable to destination
Directions
From Piliscsév railway station, we can reach Kesztölc along the PB12 route.
Parking
The dead-end village, dug into the side of the Pilis, can be reached by car from the north or south. At the P+B point, relatively few cars fit, but in the more remote parts of the settlement, you will surely find parking spaces.Coordinates
