PAMINA-Rheinpark North circular cycle route (long route)
The cross-border circular cycle path within the PAMINA-Rheinpark connects the three areas South Palatinate, North Baden, and North Alsace.
The route offers many opportunities to discover the landscape and places in the region. With the connecting route at the height of Wörth/Rhine and the Rhine bridge, cyclists have several options (see PAMINA-Rheinpark North circular route medium route with 59 km and the smaller family route with 36 km). To the north, the Rhine is crossed by the ferry Leimersheim - Eggenstein/Leopoldshafen. To the south, the Rhine crossing is with the ferry Neuburg - Rheinstetten/Neuburgweier. Numerous nature, cultural and culinary highlights along the route invite you to linger. A special experience is the ride through the cattle grazing area between Kandel and Schaidt, as well as through the magical Bienwald and along the Rhine with its floodplain landscape. The path is mostly signposted and mostly paved. Dining and overnight accommodation options are available in almost all towns along the route. The cycle path is family-friendly due to its mostly flat course.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for respectful coexistence in nature
- Be considerate on the road - Always behave predictively, kindly and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way. This applies especially to farm roads where vineyard owners, farmers and foresters also work on weekends.
- Picnic & rubbish - Remember to take a rubbish bag with you and take waste back home. Use only furnished rest areas for breaks & picnics.
- Nature conservation - Stay on designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest by dusk at the latest to avoid disturbing nocturnal animals' rhythm.

Safety information
Cycling on farm roads - Often our cycling routes run on paths shared with others. We therefore ask for considerate and friendly behavior at all times. Vineyard owners, farmers and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests and vineyards for their daily work – also on weekends. Due to work assignments and/or weather conditions, the paths may be more heavily soiled at times. Special caution is also advised when cycling on the roads in and around the Palatinate towns. Roadblocks and detours must be strictly observed.
Dangerous situations - In an emergency, quick help is required. Even though mobile phones can send GPS signals, classic rescue points are often the fastest way. These are located at points easily accessible for rescue vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when calling for help. This way rescue workers will know where to find you.

Roadbook
The cycle path is mostly well signposted and can be ridden in both directions. Follow the logo (yellow plaque with white bicycle and circle as well as the German and French flags). Only on the Baden side section along the Rhine between the city boundary of Karlsruhe (Altrheinarm Kleiner Bodensee) and the ferry at Leopoldshafen is there no signage. Here it is recommended to download the GPX track and follow the track.
We ride counterclockwise from Jockgrim towards Wörth. From the exit of Jockgrim we continue straight ahead on the paved path into the Bienwald. At the Schmerbach it goes slightly to the left and then to the right until you reach the railway tracks at Wörth. Shortly after the railway tracks at Wörth we turn right to follow the long route. Then it continues to Kandel. We follow the marking through Kandel. At the exit of Kandel we continue straight ahead along the Hintergraben to Minfeld, turn left into Gartenstraße, then right into the street "Am Flachsbach" and left again into Holzgasse. At Flachsbach we turn right towards the sports field and sports clubhouse of Minfeld. We take Jahnstraße in the direction of Minfeld and before Minfeld turn left towards Freckenfeld. We always ride along the Dorfbach past Freckenfeld to Schaidt. In Schaidt we turn left into Vollmersweilerstraße, left again into Hauptstraße and after a short distance turn right into Speckstraße. Then we turn right into Waldstraße towards the sports hall Schaidt. Continue along the road into the Bienwald. Always following the cycle path markings, it goes through the idyllic and quiet Bienwald to the Salmbacher Passage. We cross into France via the Salmbacher Passage.
We ride via Niederlauterbach to Scheibenhard and cross the border again to the neighboring German village Scheibenhardt. At Niederlauterburg we head back to France towards the Rhine. Along the Rhine we ride north to the ferry terminal at Neuburg, take the ferry to the Baden side and continue north past Rheinstetten, Karlsruhe to the ferry at Eggenstein/Leopoldshafen. Once on the other side of the Rhine, we cycle through Leimersheim, Neupotz, Rheinzabern back to our starting point in Jockgrim.
