Public transport

Take the train directly to the hiking station, which is centrally located in Rodalben. From there, you can use the regional buses of Southwest Palatinate local transport (lines 248 and 256) and/or the dial-a-ride taxi line 2571 (must be booked by phone one hour in advance). Timetable information is available on the websites of the Bahn and the transport associations (VRN) or via the apps „DB Navigator“ or „myVRN“.

From the station, it is only about a ten-minute walk via Bahnhofstraße, the Marien bridge (stairs via pillars or barrier-free via Post-, Pfarr-, and Kirchstraße) and Baumbuschstraße to the Tourist Information Gräfensteiner Land in the building of the Rodalben municipal administration.

B10 - exit Münchweiler an der Rodalb - L496 towards Rodalben - after the exit, this becomes L497 towards Merzalben - follow this to the Rodalben exit towards Pirmasens - at the intersection, go straight into Am Rathaus street, at the end of which on the left side is the municipal administration with the Tourist Information.

B270 - in the Donsieders-Biebermühle area, switch to L497 towards Rodalben - drive on this to the Rodalben exit towards Pirmasens - at the intersection, go straight into Am Rathaus street, at the end of which on the left side is the municipal administration with the Tourist Information.

L482 from Clausen/Donsieders direction - follow this through Rodalben towards Pirmasens - drive to the end of Lindersbachstraße - turn right there and immediately left into Pirmasens street - after about 150 meters, turn right into Am Rathaus street, at the end of which on the left side is the municipal administration with the Tourist Information.

L482 from Pirmasens direction - follow this to Rodalben - take the second street to the left, at the end of which on the left side is the municipal administration with the Tourist Information.

    Die Strecke hat uns viel Spaß gemacht und ist in der Wegbeschreibung perfekt wiedergegeben. Der Trailanteil kam mir sogar etwas höher vor, als die genannten 14 %, aber Tour - kein Enduro. Ein, zwei knifflige Stellen wie der S2-Trail runter zur Sägmühle (der nach links umfahren werden kann) oder die kurze Tragepassage (gekennzeichnet) sind kein Problem und es reicht, im Zweifel kurz zu schieben. Strecke ist ansonsten mit etwas Fahrtechnik gut zu bewältigen. Das ein oder andere Schild fehlt. Daher im Zweifel lieber mit GPS-Unterstützung fahren.

    Ich bin mit der Regionalbahn von Hinterweidenthal nach Kaiserlautern gefahren und dann die Tour mit dem Bio Bike zurück. Am Anfang folgt man Landstrassen, aber dann wird es wirklich schön! Es gibt 2-3 knackige Steigungen; einmal musste ich schieben. Nach der letzten Steigung genießt man eine rasante Abfahrt mit Spitzkehre zurück nach Hinterweidenthal. Fazit: Top Tour, welcje ich bestimmt noch einmal fahren werde.

    Sehr schön und abwechslungsreich. Viel auf schmalen Pfaden durch hübschen Laubwald, vorbei an Felsformationen und dann wieder Waldrand mit offenen Wiesenflächen und Obstbaumwiesen. Immer schlängelnde Wege und immer gehts etwas auf und ab. Gelegentlich auch Sitzbänke zum rasten. Unterwegs leider keine Einkehrmöglichkeit (der Birkwieserhof hat seit 2025 geschlossen), im Ort Clausen gibt es eine Pizzeria Castello. Wenn man zum Kuhfelsen will, muss man ein paar Meter nach unten vom Weg abgehen. Bei der Damtierhaltung Clausen sind wir schon 2 x vorbeigelaufen und haben nichts gesehen. Ein gutes Stück im Wald läuft man auf dem (auch superschönen) Rodalber Felsenwanderweg, nur hier sind uns 3 Paare begegnet, den restlichen Weg hatten wir für uns alleine. Mit 3 kleinen Sitzpausen haben wir 4 Stunden gebraucht. T2 Stellen gab es nicht. Nur an 2-3 Stellen sind auf den Pfaden manche Kurven steil und verdichtet. Da musste mein Mann Bremsklotz spielen. Der Höhlbach hatte bereits im April kaum noch Wasser, war nur an manchen Stellen noch ein Rinnsal.

    Bin kürzlich diesen-für mich neuen- Felsenweg gegangen...und war überaus positiv überrascht! Zumindest der erste Teil der recht kurzen Tour war überaus spannend mit sehr imposanten Felsen bestückt. Aber wie so oft bei Rundwegen war der Rückweg ,oberhalb der Felsen verlaufend,relativ unspektakulär.Aber insgesamt kann ich diese kurze Tour wirklich empfehlen,da sie relativ ruhig, ohne Verkehrslärm viel bietet und nicht viele Höhenmeter zu bestreiten sind. .

    "Start ist beim Parkplatz an der PWV-Gräfensteinhütte: https://www.pfalz.de/de/gastronomie/pwv-graefensteinhuette. Abwechslungsreiche Wege. Zuerst geht es auf einen angehenden Hohlweg, dann 2 x steil hoch, erst zur Burg und dann gegenüber zum Felsen. Große, guterhaltene Burgruinenanlage mit Aussichtsturm. Der Pfad zum Winschertkopf rechts hoch war mir zu schmal und steil (in der Karte auch als T2 eingetragen) daher sind wir auf dem Hauptweg links außenherum. Ab dem Fuß vom Berg hoch auf den Winschertfelsen ist es meines Erachtens aber ebenfalls T2 (obwohl in der Karte T1 steht). Hoch ist es noch OK, aber runter waren einige Stellen, die ich nur mit Bremsklotz (mein Mann) bewältigte. Der Pfad ist verdichtet, rutschig, steil, teilweise nackter Fels. Zum Felsen führen dann 2 lange Gitterstahltreppen über Abgrund. Die 1. geht noch, die 2. klappte (ohne Höhentraining) nur zur Hälfte. Als nur für Schwindelfreie. Durch den Wald geht es wieder zurück zum Parkplatz."
