Miskolc-Dorottya utca kétvágányos fejállomás, amely a hazai kisvasutak között egyedülálló módon panelházak tövében található, merőlegesen a Miskolc központjából Diósgyőrön át Lillafüredre vezető kelet-nyugati irányú főútra.
A kis állomást a közelmúltban szépen felújították, a Kiss tábornok utca (azaz a villamosmegálló) felőli végén a látogatót egy kiállított fél vasúti kocsi fogadja, amelyben a hazai kisvasutakkal ismerkedhet három nagy tabló segítségével. Továbbhaladva a peron felé kis oszlopokon a LÁEV két vonala mellett található látnivalók (pl. az Ómassai őskohó, a lillafüredi Palotaszálló, Andókút, vagy a diósgyőri vár) elevenednek meg kisplasztikák formájában. A peron mellett további infótáblákon lehet ismerkedni a kisvasút történetével – innen tudhatjuk meg például azt is, hogy a mostani végállomástól a sínek továbbvezettek a Ládi rakodó és a Tatárárok felé; az 1933-as Lillafüredi Írói Hét alkalmából a Budapestről érkező „kultúrvonatok” utasai a Ládi rakodón átszállva jutottak el a Palotaszállóba.
