Mártabánya megállóhely egy időben Diósgyőr-városközpont névre hallgatott, és valóban innen a legegyszerűbb elérni az újonnan felhúzott városrészt. A mai név is találó azonban, 1923-1967 között működött ugyanis a közelben Márta-bánya néven egy szénbánya. A megállóhely egy földút mellett található, ahol a vasút keresztezi a Tömörkény István utcát; a fák között egy esőbeálló véd az időjárás viszontagságai ellen.
Mártabánya megállóhely feltételes megállóhely, azaz a vonatok csak akkor állnak itt meg, ha van le- vagy felszálló utas.

- Az Árpád útról a villamos- és buszmegállók között félúton található utcán kell betérni a lakótelepi házak közé, majd az élelmiszerbolt lapos épülete mellett elhaladva előbb jobbra, majd rögtön balra kell kanyarodni, a Tömörkény István utcára (kb. 400 méter séta).
