The Gloriette viewpoint in Fertőboz offers perhaps the most beautiful panorama of the Fertő Valley. The viewpoint was built in 1801 by Count Ferenc Széchényi in honor of Elector Joseph, who enjoyed the beautiful view from here several times. On clear days, one can even see Bratislava from the small pavilion on the 186-meter-high hill. The very steep ascent to the Gloriette, with more than 300 steps, begins roughly in the middle of Fertőboz. If you wish to avoid stairs and hills, you can approach the viewpoint from Nagycenk via the Mázsaház Pass. This way, you can reach the Gloriette from the back, on relatively flat ground and through the vineyards.

Opening times

In summer, from July 1 to August 31, it is open from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. In spring and autumn, from April 1 to June 30 and from September 1 to October 25, the opening hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. In late autumn, from October 26 to November 2, the Gloriette closes at 4:00 PM.
