Directly situated by the spa park is the House of Guests - opened on April 13, 1983, from Jan. 2010 to April 2010 the foyer and the restaurant as well as the outdoor area were completely renovated.
The spa park was designed in 1955 by the renowned landscape architect Valentin, covering an area of 70,000 square meters.
A strikingly beautiful tree stands directly by the rear entrance of the South Palatinate Thermal Spa. It is a trumpet tree. The English botanist and plant collector Mark Catesby discovered this tree around 1725 in North America and sent seeds of it to England. What is remarkable about this tree is everything - the large, heart-shaped leaves, the lush white bloom during flowering season in June/July, and the long pods reminiscent of vanilla that elegantly adorn the tree in winter.
In the middle of the spa park on the left side towards Kneippstraße we come to the tree that significantly shapes the appearance of the spa park. It is a Caucasian wingnut, an impressive tree from the family of Juglandaceae, which is unparalleled for miles around. The wingnut is a close relative of our walnut, which is especially evident in spring when long, greenish catkin flowers adorn the tree.
In the front area, you will also find the Kneipp columns, the water treading pool, information about the Nordic walking center, mini-golf facility, beautiful flower beds, and a statue of St. James.
The rear area extends around the swan pond.
You can best reach the spa park via one of the two parking lots: Parking lot of the thermal spa, Rötzweg 7, or parking lot at Kneippstraße.
