Refuges in the Pyrenees

South of Bagnères-de-Luchon lies the Refuge du Maupas at 2430 m above the Lys valley. The FFCAM hut is an important starting point for the Pic du Maupas and the surrounding 3000 m peaks.

The chalet La Grange de Holle is located at 1495 m above Gavarnie in the French Pyrenees. It is a peaceful base for hikes around the Cirque de Gavarnie.

The Refuge des Bésines is located at 2101 m in the Pyrenees above the Étang des Bésines near Mérens-les-Vals. The CAF hut is a stage base on the GR10 and the HRP.

The Refuge de la Glère is located at 2153 m above Barèges in the Pyrenees. The FFCAM hut is the starting point for tours to lakes and nearby three-thousand-metre peaks.

The Refuge de l'Étang Fourcat is located at 2445 m in the Parc naturel régional des Pyrénées ariégeoises above Auzat. The CAF hut is a stage base on the HRP and GR10 variant.

The Refuge de Larribet is located at 2072 m above Arrens-Marsous in the Val d'Azun. The FFCAM hut is an important base for tours to Balaïtous and HRP.

The Refuge des Cortalets is located at 2150 m in the Canigou massif near Taurinya and belongs to the FFCAM. As a base, it leads to the Pic du Canigou and the GR10/HRP.

The Refuge d'Espingo is located at 1967 m in the Luchonnais of the Pyrenees above the Lac d'Espingo. As an FFCAM base, it is a stage on the GR10 and the starting point for summit tours.

The Refuge de Bayssellance is located at 2,651 m on the Vignemale in the Pyrenees. As the highest hut in the region, it is the base for the Vignemale ascent and the GR10.

The Refuge L'Etang Pinet is located at around 2240 m above Auzat on the banks of the Étang Pinet in the Ariège-Pyrenees. The hut is the base for Montcalm and Pique d'Estats.
