Die Bindalm liegt kurz vor dem historischen Salzsäumerpass Hirschbichl und dem gleichnamigen Gasthaus Hirschbichl an der Deutsch-Österreichischen Grenze und damit am Ende des Klausbachtals, das auch als Tal der Adler bekannt ist. Im Herzen des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden wird hier die Natur sich selbst überlassen und die Almwirtschaft erfolgt auf traditionelle Art und Weise.
Zwei bewirtschaftete Kaser auf der Bindalm
Insgesamt befinden sich vier Almhütten, sogenannte Kaser auf der Bindalm. Zwei davon sind bewirtschaftet. Selbstgemachte Erzeugnisse, wie Butter und Käse sowie Getränke stärken und erfrischen Wanderer und Mountainbiker. Sennerin Marianne Schmuck vom Kressenkaser gehörte zu den bekanntesten ihres Faches: 1954 verbrachte sie als damals 19 jährige ihren ersten Sommer auf der Bindalm, bis 2015 sind weit über 30 weitere dazugekommen. Hin und wieder trifft man die Marianne auch heute noch auf der Bindalm an. Zur Bindalm gehört als Hochweide noch die Mittereisalm, wo während der Sommermonate das Jungvieh der Almbauern weidet. Auf der Bindalm wird noch der traditionelle Schüsslkas hergestellt: Diese Käse-Spezialität gibt es nur im südlichen Berchtesgadener Land.
Der Rundumkaser auf der BindalmEine der nicht bewirtschafteten Hütten ist der Schied-Kaser, ein Rundumkaser des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden. Diese historische Bauform war vor hunderten Jahren üblich, wird heute aber nicht mehr in dieser Form genutzt. Der Rundumkaser gilt als Baudenkmal ersten Ranges. Der Kaser auf der Bindalm stand früher auf der mittlerweile verfallenen Feldalm im Gebiet des Funtensees und wurde dort bis 1960 genutzt. Nach dem auflassen der Alm wurde der Kaser auf Initiative des Nationalparks abgebaut, Stück für Stück mit dem Hubschrauber abtransportiert und an seinem neuen Standort wieder aufgestellt. So entstand auf der Bindalm ein geschütztes Almhütten-Ensemble.
Wanderung zur Bindalm
Die Bindalm ist eines der beliebstesten Wander-Ziele im Klausbachtal, einem der Haupttäler des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden. Zu Fuß kann man die Alm in etwa 2 bis 2,5 Stunden erreichen. Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung ist das Klausbachhaus, die Informationsstelle des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden am Hintersee im Bergsteigerdorf Ramsau, etwa 15 Kilometer von Berchtesgaden entfernt. Im Verlauf der Wanderung passiert man die Wildfütterung und die Hängebrücke im Klausbachtal. Ein kurzer Abstecher führt auf die Ragertalm. Von der Bindalm ist es dann auch nicht mehr weit zum Alpengasthof Hirschbichl an der Deutsch-Österreichischen Grenze oder zur Litzlalm.
Mit dem Mountainbike oder E-Bike zur BindalmAuch für Mountainbiker und E-Biker ist die Bindalm ein beliebtes Ziel. Auf der Straße durch das Klausbachtal erreicht man vom Hintersee aus kurz nach dem steilen Mitterberg die Abzweigung zur Bindalm, von hier führt der Almweg bis zur Bindalm. Bei der Mountainbiketour zur Litzlalm, zur Kallbrunnalm oder der Mountainbike-Runde um die Reiter Alm bietet sich die Bindalm als Zwischenstopp an. Beachten Sie bitte: Die direkte Weiterfahrt mit dem Rad über den Fußweg zum Hirschbichl ist nicht erlaubt!
Mit dem Almerlebnisbus ins KlausbachtalMan kann auch mit dem Almerlebnisbus bis zur Haltestelle Bindalm oder Hirschbichl fahren, dann beträgt der Fußweg nur wenige Minuten. Der Bus fährt von Mai bis Oktober.
