A wonderfully scenic circular route to the panoramic Seehorn. The descent over the Kematenschneid opens the Hochwies, the high valley between Seehorn and Hundstod.

Roadbook
The starting point of the mountain route to Seehorn is the Kallbrunnalm. The long way to the starting point is best covered by e-bike. At Kallbrunnalm, the bike is deposited. According to the signpost, it takes 3 hours to reach the summit. The path leads over the alpine pasture area into the forest and uphill at a pleasant incline. At 1,779 meters altitude, almost exactly halfway to the summit, lies the deep green and almost circular Seehornsee in a hollow.
After the lake, the route continues along the right lakeshore. Now the path becomes noticeably steeper. Through dwarf pines and over rocks, you quickly gain altitude. A steep rock step even requires a firm grab with the hands. Above the rock passage, a small snowfield awaits crossing. After an icy slope, you reach the gently rising summit slope, crowned by a summit cross visible from afar. The last meters of the ascent proceed along the right flank of the Seehorn, which falls steeply into the Dießbach valley and opens the view to the Steinernes Meer. Directly opposite rises the Großer Hundstod.
The descent over the Kematenschneid is demanding but without problems. On the further path down to Hochwies, snow can still lie until summer. The Hochwies between Hundstod and Seehorn is a real highlight of the landscape.
The further descent follows along the Dießbach. Up to the valley station of the material cable car to the Ingolstädter Haus, the route is a narrow footpath, then it becomes a wider but partially steep forest road. The Dießbach reservoir then marks the end point of the Seehorn mountain route.
