A 13. században épült Mároki-kápolnát a Kerkától keletre, Szécsisziget határában a szőlőhegyen, egy erdei tisztáson találjuk. A kápolna a török időkben elpusztult Petróc falu temploma volt, körülötte régi temető terül el. A helyi lakosok nevezték el a kápolnát Márokinak, ám ennek okát a mai napig nem ismerjük, hiszen Márok nevű létező vagy elpusztult község nincsen Zala megyében, a hasonló nevű Márokföld pedig több mint huszonöt kilométerre van innen.
A téglából készült, tornyos kápolna a török időkben, a 16. században vált elhagyatottá. 1794-ben a Szapáry család állíttatta helyre, az eltelt évszázadok során pedig az eredetileg román stílusú épületet többször is átalakították. A Mároki-kápolna sajátosságai az oltár körül falba épített ülőhelyek. Az épület nyugati bejárata fölé magasodó harangtorony formája egy eddig csak Zalában – Andráshidán és Dobronhegyen – látott 13. századi típussal mutat rokonságot, mindhárom helyen haránt irányban lapított, téglalap keresztmetszetű építmény csatlakozik a nyugati oldalhoz.
A 20. század közepén Szécsisziget és Iklódbördőce összefogott a szőlőhegyi kápolna renoválása érdekében, ami 1964-ben valósulhatott meg. Egyes elméletek szerint Iklódbördőcéhez köthető a Mároki-kápolna elnevezés is: a szomszédos Iklód – elpusztult – középkori plébániájának patrónusa ugyanis Szent Márk volt, a kápolna elnevezése talán innen ered.

- A buszmegállóból sétáljunk Szécsisziget irányába, majd kb. 800 méter után, ahol a tábla is jelzi, balra kanyarodunk, és a P+ jelzés elvezet a kápolnához (2 km).
- A vasútállomástól induljunk délre, a Rózsa ferenc utcán, amíg el nem érünk a főútig. Ott balra fordulunk, majd ahol tábla jelzi, jobbra követjük a P+ jelzést a kápolnáig.
Parking
- A Szécsisziget és Csömödér közti 7539-es út és a P+ turistajelzés találkozásánál hagyhatjuk az autót.
