Kandel - Circuit European Cultural Park at Schwanenweiher
Numerous remarkable sculptures line the idyllic path around the Schwanenweiher pond. The works were created during a sculptors symposium in 1993 and a wood symposium in 2009.
Let your soul relax during a walk through the European Cultural Park at Schwanenweiher. Numerous impressive sculptures line the idyllic path around the Schwanenweiher. They were created during a sculptors symposium in 1993 and a wood symposium in 2009:
- Martine Andernach - The Seated
- Georg Ahrens - The Large Walker
- Villi Bossi - The Gate to Friendship
- Delia Brandusescu-Serban - Communion (opposite the Schwanenweiher in front of the IGS)
- Ljubo de Karina - Breakthrough Kandel
- Trudi Entwistle - Reflection
- Adrien Meneau - Assis sur la frontière - on the borderline, L’étudiante
- Guntram Prochaska - 5 - 7 Continents
- Miguel Pavel - Diver
A large, natural playground delights children’s hearts and a kiosk takes care of refreshments in summer. A beautiful boule court is also on site.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature:
- Be considerate on the way - Always behave thoughtfully, friendly, and considerate towards everyone you meet. This applies especially on service roads, where vintners, farmers, and foresters also work weekends.
- Nature conservation - Stay on the marked paths and avoid unnecessary noise when in nature.
- Leash dogs – Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Safety information
Please do not leave children unattended near the water.
Especially in autumn, it is important to note that fallen leaves can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may break off even afterward. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections.

Roadbook
From Kandel train station, we reach Beethovenstrasse through the track underpass. We follow this street until Jahnstrasse. There we turn right. We follow Jahnstrasse for a few meters until the Schwanenweiher pond is visible on the left side. We enter the European Cultural Park and keep the Schwanenweiher on our right. First, on the right, we see the work "Durchbruch" by Ljubo di Karina. If we look through it once, we gaze at the idyllic Schwanenweiher behind it. Immediately to the right follows the "Gate to Friendship" by Villi Bossi. We continue along the path and go a little to the right towards the water. Who spots the "Diver" by Miguel Pavel first? We enjoy the view over the entire pond, then go back and continue along the path. Soon on our left follows the "Seated" by Martine Andernach. We follow the path to the right around the Schwanenweiher. We go straight ahead until a kiosk is on the left side. After the kiosk, turning left, we find "5-7 Continents" by Guntram Prochaska. Returning to the path and continuing our walk around the pond, on the left follows "The Large Walker" by Georg Ahrens. If we then go right towards the pond, shortly before the water on the right side is "Assis sur la frontière - On the Borderline" by Adrien Menou. A little further on, "Reflection" by Trudi Entwistle creates interesting shadow plays in the water. We then go back and end the circuit around the Schwanenweiher at our starting point. Halfway there, we again have a beautiful view of the pond and see the "Diver" from another perspective. On the opposite side, in front of the IGS, the work "Communion" by Delia Brandusescu-Serban has found its place. Via Jahnstrasse and Beethovenstrasse, we return to the train station.
