The round described here runs in the opposite direction and requires no taxi. Accordingly, it is also particularly long and strenuous but offers, in addition to the Caldera itself, an impression of the (former) manor houses in the agriculturally intensively used region around Hacienda del Cura. Today, most of these buildings are only occupied on weekends; some can also be rented as holiday homes. Those who stay there can complete the entire circuit through the Caldera de Taburiente from their doorstep.

Roadbook
Then return to the main path and follow it further upstream, where it soon climbs steeply in hairpin bends, leaving the valley of the Rio Almendro Amargo to the left and passing a rockfall-prone zone below steep rock walls higher up. At the upper edge of the pine forest, you reach a saddle and the vegetation suddenly becomes lush. Soon after, you arrive at Playa de Taburiente, where there is a visitor center and a campsite.
From the campsite, follow the signposts "Los Brecitos," cross the young Rio Taburiente, and hike on a very beautiful footpath through the open pine forest, gently ascending and crossing several side valleys until the end of the road at Los Brecitos, which marks the highest point of this tour.
For the descent, follow the signposts "Barranco de las Angustias," initially about 1.5 km along the road, then turn left onto a footpath into the forest (yellow markings). The path crosses the road three times in total and then leads right down towards Hacienda del Cura, where it joins the road again. After 1 km, leave the road to the left at a signpost "Barranco de las Angustias" to descend steeply and in hairpin bends along yellow markings, following an old Camino, which is partly covered by concrete and gravel tracks. Further down, the road is crossed twice more before finally meeting a gravel path, which you follow to the right, then descend to the ford in the valley floor of the Barranco de las Angustias and from there return to the parking lot.
