Three days of leisurely hiking in the Schliersee mountains - overnight stays in rustic huts, enjoying the dreamy landscape of the Upper Bavarian mountains, scenery, and lakes - that is what characterizes the Three-Lake Route. On the first day, a leisurely walk to the Schönfeldhütte, on the second over the Rotwandhaus to the Albert-Link-Hütte, and on the third day over the Bodenschneid summit to Tegernsee - pure mountain enjoyment.

The Three-Lake Route is a 3-day hiking tip for families and leisure hikers in the Spitzing area (Schliersee mountains). It is especially suitable for those who have never hiked from hut to hut and want to surrender to the charm of a pleasant mountain hike from hut to hut. But even experienced mountaineers will have fun on this very scenic route.

And especially families with children from 8-10 years old. It is obviously well known that the Three-Lake Route is fun for everyone - from 9 to 90!

    Safety information

If you have little alpine experience or if the weather conditions are not so inviting, it is recommended on day 2 from the Taubensteinsattel not to descend to the Taubensteinhaus and the Kleintiefentalalm on the further route to Rotwand, but to choose the significantly easier hiking trail via the Taubensteinbahn mountain station, Taubenstein, Läampersberg over to the Rotwandhaus.

    Tips and suggestions

    Roadbook

The three-day route first takes us from Spitzingsattel up to the Schönfeldhütte. If you feel like it, you can climb up to the Jägerkamp and enjoy the wonderful view down to Schliersee and the Bavarian foothills before indulging in a wonderfully fresh snack in the evening at the Schönfeldhütte.

The second day leads us over the Taubensteinsattel, Taubensteinhaus, and Rotwand summit, first uphill, before after a refreshment at the Rotwandhaus it goes downhill again to Valepp and along it to the Albert-Link-Hütte. After this varied and very entertaining day stage, a true culinary firework of fresh homemade Bavarian delicacies awaits you there - enjoy it, you have earned it!

On the third day, it goes uphill again to the Bodenschneid summit, which offers you a fantastic view of Tegernsee and millions of other peaks.

Impressed and full of countless impressions from the past days, you then travel back home very comfortably from Enterrottach by bus & train.

And if you've caught the bug now: find more of these appetizing route tips at www.huettentrekking.de.

    Public transport

    Public-transport-friendly

The ideal way to reach the Three-Lake Route is by public transport. The start and end points of the route are not the same, but very conveniently reachable by bus and train.

The journey from Munich is by the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) to the Fischhausen-Neuhaus station (1 hr 10 min). From Fischhausen-Neuhaus station, take the RVO bus line 9562 to Spitzingsattel (15 min), the starting point of this leisurely three-day route.

The return journey from Enterrottach to Munich can also be comfortably done by public transport.
First with RVO bus line 9560 from the Enterrottach toll station stop to Tegernsee station (20 min).
Then very comfortably and relaxed with the BOB from Tegernsee station to Munich (1 hour).

    Directions

A 8 (Munich–Salzburg) – exit Weyarn or Irschenberg – continue to Miesbach – on B 307 via Hausham, Schliersee, and Fischhausen-Neuhaus to the turnoff to Spitzingstraße – up this to Spitzingsattel.

A tip for those who drove their own car to Spitzing for the route choice on day 3:
Instead of descending to Enterrottach, the following descent options are also available from the Bodenschneid summit:

    • If your car is at Spitzingsattel, choose the descent to Firstalm (towards west).
From there you will reach the parking lot at Spitzingsattel directly.
    • If your car is in Neuhaus at the station:
Descend to the Bodenschneidhaus and then follow the marked forest road downhill to Neuhaus and from there to the parking lot at the station.

    Parking

Paid parking is available directly at Spitzingsattel. If this is full: additional paid parking spaces are available at the valley station of the Taubensteinbahn.

Klar!

LG Nesrin
