Das Markus Wasmeier Freilichtmuseum am Schliersee ist ein liebevoll rekonstruiertes altbayerisches Dorf, das die Besucher auf eine Zeitreise in das bäuerliche Leben des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts mitnimmt. Über ein Dutzend originalgetreu wiederaufgebaute Gebäude – von Bauernhöfen bis hin zu Handwerksstätten – zeigen, wie das Leben und Arbeiten damals aussah. Mit spannenden Mitmach-Aktionen, historischen Vorführungen und lebendigen Handwerksdemonstrationen wird Geschichte erlebbar. Für das leibliche Wohl sorgt das Gasthaus „Zum Wofen“, und die Museumsbrauerei lädt zu hausgemachtem Bier ein. Besonders Familien kommen auf ihre Kosten, da auch für Kinder zahlreiche Aktivitäten geboten werden, darunter ein Abenteuerspielplatz und Tiere zum Anfassen.
Das Museum bietet das ganze Jahr über Veranstaltungen wie Märkte, Feste und historische Handwerksvorführungen. Zudem gibt es einen Bauernladen mit regionalen Produkten und einen Brotbackofen, in dem regelmäßig Brot gebacken wird. Hier wird bayerische Tradition gelebt und weitergegeben – ideal für einen erlebnisreichen Ausflug.
