Rothselberg - circular hike
We climb high over the Selberg, continue through the village of Eßweiler, into the musician village Jettenbach, and back to Rothselberg.
We start our hike in the village of Rothselberg, which lies at the foot of the 546-meter-high Selberg. The starting point is on Hauptstraße, at the junction with "Selbergstraße." We are on "Selbergstraße" and take the third exit at the roundabout. This path is marked with yellow-red bars. We follow the path into the forest. There it crosses the "Pfälzer Höhenweg." From here, we hike up the Selberg to the Selberghütte. It is worth taking a break here and enjoying the beautiful view. There is also a Sunday refreshment stop.
Now we descend on the path marked with yellow-red bars, arriving at the foot of the Selberg. We hike past the Eßweiler gliding airfield into the village of Eßweiler. Via the street "Am Kläppchen," we reach the "Hauptstraße." Here we follow the yellow-red bar markings again, heading to the village exit towards Jettenbach. We pass a Kneipp facility and three motorhome parking areas. Here the path crosses with the "Remigius-Wanderweg." We hike a bit on this trail along the Trautmannsberg, then turn over a field onto the path marked with white-black bars.
We arrive in the musician village of Jettenbach. Jettenbach is called a musician village because it has the highest number of traveling musicians from the West Palatinate Musician Land. Traveling musicians earned their living abroad. They were professional musicians but always returned home to their family.
In Jettenbach, we follow "Honiggasse" until it becomes "Höhstraße." We follow "Höhstraße" past Röhlhof. Past the forest edge, we leave the street and cross the field to the Rutzenbach. Where the Jettenbach, Rutzenbach, and Selchenbach merge are tennis courts and motorhome parking spots. We now follow the path marked with a white disc with a black dot. We pass Korbuschhütte and continue on the path with the same marking. We arrive back in Rothselberg on "Hauptstraße."

Safety information
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures on our hiking trails in the region caused by forestry work, hunting groups, etc., on this platform.
However, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we have not been informed.
Any hiker who walks through closed areas (barrier tape, "Caution Hunting", etc.) even on weekends acts with gross negligence and is responsible for their own actions!
Some parts of the hiking trail lead over narrow paths and rocks. Good footwear is required. Areas in nature reserves are unsuitable for strollers.
Particularly in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. Expect such path impairments when hiking. If you find certain sections impassable, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather, natural paths may be muddy and slippery.
