Enjoy nature, conquer playgrounds, have fun and get fresh air. The parks in the Landau urban area are true centers of relaxation. They are simultaneously meeting places for all generations, sports arenas, event locations, and wellness oases. In the vibrant city life, they are the constant of calm. A place to escape the city for a short time. To leave everyday life behind. To leave work, work behind. In the Landau city parks, time moves a little slower than in the lively city center. The perfect place to let your mind wander, to read a book, or to exchange thoughts with friends about the beauties of life. The South circular route takes you through Schiller-, Goethe-, Savoyen-, and Südpark. So to speak, the green lung of our city!
Author’s recommendation
Relax with a picnic on one of the many park benches, or take a break with a visit to the Par Terre wine shop in Südpark.
The circular route briefly runs along busy streets.

The route starts in Schillerpark, which was established at the end of the 19th century and renamed in 1905 on the occasion of the 100th death anniversary of Friedrich Schiller. In the 3-hectare park, Baroque garden elements are combined with the style of the English landscape garden. It fascinates with its variety of flowers and abundance of blooms. From here, the path leads through the small green strip at Spionskopf and crosses the street at the traffic light to Goethepark. Here there are very extensive lawns, shade-giving trees, and with a size of 5.5 hectares the largest of Landau's city parks. As a so-called community park, it is a meeting place and venue for various events. The park is crossed once up to Savoyenpark. Until the construction of the railway line, the small park with the playground belonged to Westpark. Right next door are the underground areas of Lunette 41. Over Weißenburger Straße, the path now heads towards the Südpark area, the site of the former state garden show in 2015. On former military-used barracks grounds, modern park facilities were created. Centrally located to the new residential area "Am Ebenberg" is Südpark with spacious tiered lawns, a generous water garden, a gleditschia grove, as well as play and exercise facilities for young and old. To the south stretches the landscape park with the gardens of the Palatinate and the observation tower, as well as the Kohlelager play and sports campus, which lead to the national natural heritage site Ebenberg.
