The Schiller Park is today known as a "people's park," an oasis in all seasons, a meeting place, and a venue for various events.
On the 100th anniversary of the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's death, the then "Westpark" was renamed "Goethepark" in 1932.
It is a park area of about 5.5 hectares in close proximity to the city center, with expansive lawns and shade-giving trees. The park is designed in the style of the English landscape garden and is the oldest park of the estate.
